The Florence Melton Adult Mini-School of Greensboro, NC was established in 2010. Our community was one of three small Jewish communities to receive a prestigious Covenant Grant to make this program possible. We are proud to join the Melton family and equally proud that our two congregations — Beth David Synagogue and Temple Emanuel — have worked together to bring Melton to our area. Our inaugural classes will be taught by Rabbi Fred Guttman and Rabbi Eli Havivi, both known for their decades of experience with and dedication to Jewish community and education. Rabbi Guttman and Rabbi Havivi attended the Rachel Wasserman New Faculty Orientation of The Florence Melton Adult Mini-School in August 2010 where they received detailed training in Meltons curriculum and teaching methods. Rabbi Andy Koren, the Director of Melton in Greensboro, attended Melton's New Directors Orientation in the spring of 2010 and the Melton's International Directors' Conference in Israel in January 2011.
