would just like to say that although I had made four previous
trips to Israel in various capacities, the trip I made with
the Melton Group from Springfield was one of the best. Everything
was so organized, the staff so friendly and helpful, accommodations
were first class, and our guide, Jonty, provided us with so
much information and thought provoking questions to ponder and
reflect upon, that each day's journey was just fantastic. I
have to say that I enjoyed every aspect of the course with its'
informational worksheets and associated day trips, including
the opportunity to view the Golan and see how close Israel is
to Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and to view the Wall dividing Israel
from the Palestinians in order to protect itself was quite an
eye-opener and disturbing. To think our beloved Israel has to
live under such stress and yet the people go on day by day with
such resilience and reserve to survive. I especially enjoyed
our evening to the Etzion Bloc with the opportunity to meet
with the Dean of the Melton Program and to hear the view points
of two people living in the West Bank. I am so grateful for
the opportunity to have studied in the Melton Program and to
increase my knowledge of Biblical History, especially for one
who is so proud to be a member of the Jewish community since
1983. May the FMAMS continue to thrive and expand its message
world wide.
