The Parent Education Program is an adaptation of the core Mini-School
curriculum generously funded by the Avi
Chai Foundation. PEP is designed specifically to match
the Jewish learning interests of the parents of young children.
Texts and discussions are designed to show the students how the
concepts they learn in class are relevant and applicable to their
lives as Jewish parents. One of the main objectives of PEP is to
encourage the students to take the conversation home.
PEP
classes are energetic and interactive. As a homogeneous group
at the same stage of life, PEP students are eager to share
their Jewish parenting experiences with their classmates.
This
program has helped me to incorporate a number of Jewish practices
and rituals into our family experience. My children will
grow up (knowing) not only that they are Jewish, but what
that means to them and be proud to be Jewish.
