Take the next step: Study the Scholars Curriculum
It is with great excitement that we announce that the Florence Melton Scholars Curriculum will be available at our Mini-School sites worldwide beginning this fall, in time for the 2006-2007 academic year.
The first module of the Scholars Curriculum, Bereshit Part I, From Adam to Abraham, has been created through a generous donation by Norton Wasserman, in honor of his wife, Rachel Aronin Wasserman. Norton and Rachel, graduates of our Chicago Mini-School, are active members of the Min-School Alumni organization, and Norton is a member of the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School Board of Directors.
In response to the demand from Mini-School graduates around the world for further studies at the Mini-School, curriculum writers at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem have developed new curriculum to ensure lifelong learning for our graduates. These writers bring to their work extensive former experience as Mini- School teachers, in tune to the particular needs and interests of our students and faculty.
The courses, comprising ten lessons and using the same format as the core curriculum, build upon the knowledge and insights gained by our students during their study of the Melton core curriculum.
Three ten week courses are scheduled to being offered:
- Shivim Panim: Seventy Faces of Torah – Bereshit Part I, From Adam to Abraham
- Shivim Panim: Seventy Faces of Torah – Bereshit Part II, The First Jewish Family
- Israeli Literature as a Window to Israeli Society
The Florence Melton Scholars Curriculum maintains the same high academic quality as our two year curriculum while presenting a comprehensive approach to more advanced study. Sign up now to ensure your participation in this exciting new initiative!
