Special Presentation to Esther Zimand
 |
At the recent International Directors Conference held in Paradise TX, a special presentation was made by Yonatan Mirvis and Betsy Katz to Esther Zimand, director of the St. Louis Mini-School, in honor of her seventeen years of outstanding service to the Mini-School. |
In making this special presentation, Dr. Yonatan Mirvis, International Director of the FMAMS, remarked on how Esther's impact upon the Mini-School is not only confined to the city of St. Louis, but her family as a whole has made a great impact on adult Jewish education and the Mini-School network, both in the US and Israel. Her husband, Rabbi Ephraim Zimand is a member of the St. Louis Mini-School faculty, her daughter, Elana Zimand of Atlanta, was a long time teacher for the Mini-School, and her son-in-law, Rabbi Morey Schwartz is FMAMS Coordinator of Curriculum at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Esther's presence at conferences and her contribution to the enrichment of the Mini-School will be missed; however, we wish her behatzlacha as she leaves her role as director to make aliyah, together with her husband, to Jerusalem this summer.
