"WE ARE THE KEEPERS OF THE PROMISE"

Link-up with Florence in Boca Raton

Directors of the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School from around the world gathered at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for our 11th Annual Directors Conference; a week of workshops and lectures combining professional development and study with foremost scholars from the Hebrew University and other educational institutions in Israel.

The Conference got off to a poignant start with

who stressed the message that the

directors of the Mini-Schools are major players in the saga of our history and they are the keepers of the promise to facilitate the study of our history and traditions and to ensure the continuation of the Jewish people.  Despite the distance between Boca and Jerusalem, each and every Director felt Florence's presence as if she was sitting together with us at the opening dinner.

With these strong words of encouragement and motivation, the tone was set for the Directors to begin the week-long conference of studying and on-site learning.  In addition to taking home to their communities new skills and innovative ideas, they will also carry with them the words of Florence Melton to remember that "each and every one of us must touch someone all the way to the future".
