Portland's Annual Shabbat Dinner

The second annual Melton Shabbat Dinner held this past January was a huge success with 100 Melton students and their families in attendance. Five of the eight Portland Melton faculty attended the dinner including: Debby Barany, Roger Brewer, Sylvia Frankel, Erica Goldman, and Rabbi Joshua Stampfer. Students and families enjoyed an evening of socializing, study and singing. Eliana Temkin, Director of FMAMS in Portland said, "This year we paid special attention to encouraging study. Special questions designed by the Melton faculty for the portion of the week, were available to students and friends. It was exciting to see graduates, current students, faculty and families spending time together and enjoying a relaxing Shabbat dinner. Portland will definitely have another Shabbat dinner next year."
