Over 60 Participants arrive for Israel Seminar

Over 60 Mini-School graduates have arrived in Jerusalem to participate in the first intake of this year's Summer Israel Seminar. We are thrilled to have with us participants from our Mini-Schools in Atlanta, GA, Bergen County, NJ, Boca Raton, FL, Broward Co., FL, Chicago, IL, Columbus, OH, Detroit, MI, Indianapolis, IN, Overland Park, KS, Portland, OR, Springfield, MA, and Washington DC.

Special thanks to Rabbi Amy Wallk Katz, director in Kansas City, Rabbi Jonathan Perlman, director in Springfield MA, Avi West of the Board of Jewish Education of Greater Washington and Jackie Land, Director in Washington DC, and to Aviva Panush and Mitch Parker from Detroit, MI for their great effort in organizing large contingents from their Mini-Schools.

Florence wishes Steve Pollack, Irv and Duana Boiman well on their trip to the Israel Seminar

Following a pre-seminar tour of the Mt. Scopus Campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, everyone gathered on the first night at the Hebrew University Faculty Club for the opening festive dinner. From the very start the atmosphere in the room was one of friendship and camaraderie, all having in common the shared experience of studying with the Mini-School.

The participants of the seminar will tour the country and will have an opportunity to visit sites in a manner that they have never encountered before: texts will come alive for the first time; the context of the historical events will became clear; and the flow of the Jewish narrative in the land of Israel will fall into place.
