The sixth day of the Israel Seminar started with a visit to
the amphitheater in Caesarea on the way up to the northern parts
of Israel. In addition to hearing the history from Steve Israel,
the tour educator, the participants were treated to hearing
the musical talents of Judith Golden, Joel Greenman both from
Chicago and Dina Golan, our website assistant, who against the
backdrop of the Mediterranean, tested the acoustics of ancient
architecture with the singing of "Eli, Eli" and "Oseh
Shalom". Next stop en route was "Beit Shearim",
the seat of the Sanhedrin and dwelling place of Rabbi Yehuda
Hanassi. The participants enjoyed some Melton learning with
Haim Aronovitz before getting back on the bus to Safed for the
evening. The participants are enjoying learning on-site and
bringing together their two years of Melton studies. As Fred
Mannis from Wilmington, DE, a first time visitor to Israel said,
"This seminar has succeeded beyond all expectations at
combining the melton curriculum with Israel, the living classroom".
