St. Louis Celebrates its Bat Mitzvah (13th) Graduation
June 2003
by Esther Zimand

Rabbi Zimand
At the end of May we celebrated the graduation of 44 students in St. Louis. This was our Bar Mitzva graduation-the 13th. We started with a d'var Torah/study session by one of the community rabbis and then the focus turns to the students. Four students spoke and shared their experience of Melton and the influence it has had on their lives. In St. Louis we have been publishing a Reflection booklet every year which was given out at graduation to each student along with their certificates. This year we honored our teachers by making a donation to Hadassah Hospital Terrorism Emergency Centre. Graduations are always very moving for the students and helps them to realize what they have accomplished in their two years of study. Many of them asked for classes for next year and as so often happens, guests of the students are so moved that they want to sign up on the spot for the next session. This year was no exception!
