Annual Alumni Event in Buffalo

On
Sunday, March 16th the Florence Melton Adult Mini School in
Buffalo, under the auspices of its Advisory Board, held its
first Annual Alumni Reunion. This event was well attended by
alumni, current students and also prospective students. We were
honored to have Jane Shapiro, Assistant Director in the North
American office, as guest teacher for a Melton mini-lesson on
Purim. The participants were thrilled with this opportunity
to study with Jane and it was an excellent introduction for
our potential students. Amy Stromberg, co-chair of this wonderful
happening, led a brainstorming session regarding what kinds
of programs alumni would like to see in the future. In the spirit
of Purim the guests enjoyed the hamentaschen and other Purim
treats served. A special thanks goes to Harold Halpern, Chair
of the Advisory Board for all his help and guidance and to the
co-chairs, Amy Stromberg and Karen Zakalik for helping to plan
this enjoyable afternoon. Besides this being an excellent opportunity
for learning and socializing, it also serves as an excellent
way to market the Mini-School and to get the community talking
Melton.
