About the Director

Dr. Ilana De Laney is the Executive Director of the Bureau of Jewish Education (BJE) of the United Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford. Ilana holds a B.A. in History and Education from Tel Aviv University, a Teaching Credential from the Teacher’s College in Givatayim, Israel,  Early Childhood Education Certificate from UCLA, and an MA in Jewish Education and Jewish Studies from University of Judaism in Los Angeles, California.  She received her doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern University, Florida. Her work experience in Israel and in the States includes leadership positions which involves founding innovative and successful programs (i.e. Kulanu for teens, Melton in Stamford); working as the Professional Development Director and as the Assistant Executive Director of the Commission for Jewish Education in West Palm Beach, Florida; and teaching and coordinating programs for youth, teens and adults.
