About the Director
Jane-Rachel Schonbrun was born & raised in Baltimore, MD. She earned her B.A. in Jewish Studies from the University of Maryland, supplemented by two years of study at universities in Israel. As a recipient of the Wexner Graduate Fellowship, Jane-Rachel completed a dual masters program at the Graduate School of JTS and at the Columbia University School of Social Work. Additionally, she spent a year studying at New York’s Drisha Institute for Jewish Education.

Jane-Rachel has worked in a diverse range of formal and informal Jewish educational settings for over fifteen years. Since July 2007, Jane-Rachel has been working in the Adult Community Department of the Albert L. Schultz Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto, and became director of the ALSJCC-sponsored Palo Alto FMAMS in July 2008.

Jane-Rachel has been living in San Jose since 2004. She and her husband Aaron (a congregational rabbi in Saratoga, CA) are the proud parents of Aviva, Gavriel, and Leora.
