About
the Director
Sharon Gulko comes to the Florence Melton program of Calgary with over two decades of non-profit management experience both within and outside of the Jewish community. After receiving her Bachelors in Applied Social Science in 1992, Sharon worked for several years in program management and counseling for HIV/AIDS organizations in Montreal. Since that time, she has served as Coordinator of the Survivor Assistance Office at the Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors; Divisional Director at State of Israel Bonds; and programming consultant to several other organizations, schools, and synagogues in the Montreal Jewish community as well as to Concordia University. In 2008, Sharon completed her Master’s Degree in Human Systems Intervention.
Sharon arrives to Calgary along with her husband, Leonard Cohen, the new ritual director at Congregation Beth Tzedec, and daughters Hannah (12) and Lilah (6).
