About
the Director
Betty Nitkin has been the Director of the Adult Jewish Studies
Institute at the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver
for the past three years, and has been instrumental in bringing
Melton to Vancouver. She holds a Masters degree in Adult Education
from the University of British Columbia, and Bachelor's degree
in science from McGill University. Since arriving in Vancouver
in 1968 she has organized many adult education programs both
as a volunteer and professional. She was the executive director
of the Jewish Education Council and operated the Jewish (teacher's)
Resource Centre. Betty was born and brought up in Montreal.
