Customized
Mini-Schools have been developed for Jewish professionals,
and for lay leaders and teachers in nursery, supplementary
and day schools. In each of these, the basic Mini-School model
has been adapted to meet the particular interests of these
learners.
The
Florence Melton Jewish
Leadership Institute (FMJLI) enables lay leaders who are
already committed to Jewish life to deepen their understanding
of the Jewish community.
The
Rachel Wasserman Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP) provides
a unique opportunity for teachers to study Jewish content
in the regular Mini-School classes, and separately, to focus
on learning about teaching. The TEP curriculum provides a
series of professional development workshops designed to help
teachers become reflective and analytical about their own
teaching practice, and to examine the complexities of teaching.
- Parents
of Pre-School Age Children (PEP)
This
program, funded by the Avi
Chai Foundation, offers parents of young children the
chance to become literate Jewish adults and Jewish teachers
for their children through lessons on Jewish family life.

- Jewish
Community Professionals
The
Florence Melton Adult Mini-School for Jewish Community Professionals
is for those who work in in a Jewish environment who want
to learn more about the individuals and the community they
serve. It leads to an understanding of policy and practice
as well as the attainment of a shared vocabulary of Jewish
life.
